I bet you thought I was going to be suggesting going on a detox and either having a few days juicing or a fast. You would be wrong! Most people who feel the need to go on a detox are actually not doing themselves a favour and they are missing the most important thing you can do to help your little cells clean up their acts. Before you embark on any detox you need to seriously address the toxic soup that we all live in nowadays. Too many chemicals are used in every area of modern life from the fire retardants on our beds, to the shampoo's and soaps we use in the chlorine water we shower in, to the added artificial "vitamins" that are added to our breakfast cereal. And that is before you have even left your home.
What you should be doing now is cleaning up your home and what you put in and on your body. Stop adding to the toxic dumping ground. There are so many wonderful natural cleaning products and personal care ones that are just as good or even more effective than the ones you use probably use now. It isn't just what you ingest but also what you put onto your skin. If you think your skin won't absorb very much just have a think about how effective nicotine patches are. If you aren't prepared to eat a product you are going to put on your skin then really you should consider avoiding it altogether.
It isn't just tangible products you should be thinking about, but also the electromagnetic field we live in. Wi-Fi, cordless phones, mobile phones are all relatively new inventions and they really haven't been around for long enough for us to know the real long term effects. At the very least turn them off at night and let your body repair and renew itself, free from these unwanted energy fields. Why wouldn't you - you aren't using them?
Good brands to try for cleaning products are Earth Friendly, Method and any of the environmental friendly brands. Benecos is a fabulous makeup range that is very inexpensive and Bentley Organics is wonderful for body creams.
