You will have seen this pink ribbon everywhere this month and very probably donated your hard earned money to one of the Big Cancer Charities. I want you to stop and think, and find another way to make better use of your money. As somebody who has had breast cancer and who used to have a standing order to Cancer Research I feel I have the right to voice my very LOUD voice on this issue.
Back in 2009 I found a lump and to cut a five year story short it was cancer, (If you want the long story it is on my website) I had surgery but declined chemo, radiotherapy and all toxic drugs. At that time I firmly believed that so called conventional medicine would save me until I started to really ask questions about survival rates and long term side effects. What I heard made me start looking for another way and I found it. Luckily in time to avoid all but surgery - if I could go back in time I wouldn't have the operation to remove the lump. Umm, isn't hindsight wonderful!!
The two main reasons I get so angry with this pink October month is that we are all told early detection is the answer and then more lives can be saved. I say "hoggeledpouch". PREVENTION is what they should be doing. Cancer is a lifestyle chronic disease mostly, and if you make lifestyle changes you can prevent yourself from being the 1 in 3 that will get the diagnosis that we all dread. The second reason is the big cancer charities don't want to find a cure for cancer - they would be out of business, and big business it is. Just have a look on the Charities Commission website and look at their Accounts at
Don’t just read the blurb actually look at the Accounts and the actual figures quoted. To summarize out of £462 million raised each year a third of that - £150 million was spent on raising funds and just £167 million on research. £130 million was spent on salaries with 189 staff earning more than £60k and 35 of those earning more than £100k. The figures make very interesting reading.
The money that is actually spent in cancer research is tiny and guess who gets that money? The drug companies. And guess who donates money to the charities? The drug companies. Are you seeing a pattern?
There are some wonderful charities out there and my favourite is CANCERactive - run by a tiny team and they really talk about prevention.
All disease is caused by either a lack of something or toxicity of the mind, body or soul. Sort out both issues and you will have no need for the drug company’s wares. I haven't taken a single pharmaceutical drug in over 5 years. You choose what you would prefer.
