Modern technology can be truly wonderful but I'm concerned that we sometimes embrace it without first understanding the bigger picture. I'm as guilty as the next person and indeed a few years ago I changed over to LED light bulbs (and spent a fortune doing it), without understand the health consequences. LED's have reduced energy consumption by around 95%, which is wonderful, but what is the hidden cost? Possibly your eyesight as you age and even your overall health. Why? Keep reading...
LED lighting could be your biggest, non-native EMF radiation exposure you have each day. These light bulbs are everywhere and it's hard to avoid them. They can contribute to age related macular degeneration which is the leading cause of blindness and also reduce mitochondria function. If the power plants in your cells aren't functioning properly then your whole body will suffer the effects with acute and chronic diseases developing. THIS IS IMPORTANT!!!
The old incandescent light bulbs had the near infrared range of light whereas the new LED's have virtually none and they also have an excessive of blue light, which generates reactive oxygen species causing all sorts of problems.
Personally I have changed back to incandescent bulbs for as long as I can get hold of them. The health benefits for me are just too great. Alternatively you can use blue blocking glasses which you can pick up from Amazon for under £13 (http://amzn.to/2e8RQjX).
